Life's little moments....

So, no matter how much crap life throws at you every once in a while, God has a way of reminding us (me especially) -- it's just crap. The little moments and happenings are just moments and happenings --

In my morning paper/epaper reading -- got the news that Larry, the Chamber manager died suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday night.

So 17 days to go . . . .

Tornado Sunday....

So, where were you 11 years ago. I was hard at work -- it was a wacky weather day and it just got wackier as the day passed on. I can still hear the wail of the sirens and thinking I'd better get home rather than ride it out. Not knowing "it" was just that awful.

In getting ready for the 5oth Anniversary party the tornado pictures have resurfaced. It brings back the good and the bad memories. I should look up my old office neighbors today -- I still remember the hug from Boyd -- telling me it was good to see me alive --- and please move my truck -- he needed to get out of the driveway, even though his car had half a building on it. All the windows blown out of the office and my fish flopping on the floor (and then relocating them to the toilet -- it had water!). I can still hear the sounds of the snow plows clearing debris on 3rd street --- trees, cars and tornado poop.

11 years -- seems like a lifetime and "it" was just a blip on my radar of life. I think about all the family members who've passed away since then, all the major illnesses that've been beaten and "it" seems rather unimportant. I have much to be thankful for.

Water, water, water

Well, they tell me the river is rising -- since it's not part of my daily commute I don't see the changes. (and my morning/evening commute is in the dark) .....
We forget to count our blessings -- Mother Nature can be brutal --- after watching the early morning news and watching the Fargo/Moorhead disaster -- I think a little cold weather is just a blip on our list of nasties.
19 days and 285 hours and counting!
Diva is tired (and really cranky)

So, it's Monday

The days (and nights) are flying past me. (don't even mention the years -- Saturday will be the 11th anniversary of the big wind -- seems like a lifetime ago).

I did manage to squeak in an hour of reading time last night -- I woke up with a book poking me, the lights and tv on -- at 3:00am. So it goes.

Back to the chaos.

Friday's in Diva's World

So, I have vowed not to be grumpy today. I spent 5 hours at "planning and zoning" school yesterday for the County. Bizarre stuff.

Got home to computer issues at home --- Dad had trouble finding his "cranky ape" site (junk stuff) --- somehow the computer was turned off......

Check out dr lee's facebook page for the Grand Canyon pictures.

Check out Hannah's journal http:\misshannahrose.livejournal.com --- Hannah's travels and life experiences in Guatamala ..... Hannah's family has a booth at the Farmers Market also, she is the fabulous baker.... missing the tea cakes already.

Vacations (other people's not mine!)

So computer geek and wife are on vacation out west....here are pix's I stole off of their facebook pages....

They finally posted some pictures -- these are from Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park --- they have some cool Grand Canyon pictures too.

I've never been West (other than a long weekend in Las Vegas -- in 1994) I do believe it's time to check some of this out!!!!

St Patrick's Day in St. Peter

So, my "old house" made the paper --- evidently the Free Press photographer was across the street during the parade. Somewhere along the curb is Syndey, Symon, Brock and Brielle -- they were sucking up the candy and beads like human vacuum cleaners....

It was a nice parade---beautiful afternoon and early evening and a nice get out of the building and get some air and clear the mind time!

This Diva quit working at 5:00pm last night -- the first "night" off in almost 2 months and it felt good --- at least when I was awake.

I took time and sat down and started to order my seed for this years patch. I ordered blind -- just ordered. It's a back to the basics year -- none of the fancy stuff, just the good stuff.

The picture is one of Hannah's from Guatamala --- I saved it from her facebook page. Sounds like she's having a great time (experience, life lesson). I wish I had her sense of adventure. It is inspiring to read her online journal and follower her adventures.
Don't forget tomorrow --- I've decided it's the day my luck will change!!!! Green rules !!!! (from the german/norweigian/russian decendent)

Up and at 'em

Thursday -- where did the week/month go? So I've got a one computer system and it seems to be working just spiffy. A couple of bumps yesterday but figured it out and got it going by myself!!!

Went home early last night (8:15ish) -- got in bed with my book and well, crashed -- slept soundly until 3:00am when my internal clock went off -- awoke with glasses, lights and tv -- no fuzzies when watching TV this morning.

The grind continues -- but the weather Dude says 50 by Sunday -- that would be a good thing!

My crazy, crazy life

So, how wacky is my world.

I buried my server last night -- and Lee (computer geek) and I re-installed and copied over data from the various locations to a new computer. So at 9:30 last night we were almost done. I was done in ..... and the wind was a blowin --- so, I wouldn't let Lee drive home to Gaylord -- he spent the night at our House. He thought he was spending the night elsewhere.....like here at the office -- wrong --- ..

The day rolls forward.

Weekend of .......

So it was the weekend to get my computer network running (at least that was the plan)....after 3 hours of phone time with tech support and Dr. Lee, things looked really promising last night. I worked all night and never crashed.

This morning however was a new day -- after Jackie arrived and started scanning, which went well for almost 45 minutes and the world fell apart -- mulitple times. So, we did what we could until Dr. Lee arrived.

Another hour of phone time with tech support and a fix to Windows was added -- I tried really hard to make it crash for an hour and then my body pooped out. I am bone tired and it was starting to show. I had one meltdown yesterday and a mini one this morning.

Tomorrow will tell the story. Send prayers our direction we could really use a break.

Road Construction....

so, here's the deal --- when they shut down Minn Ave --- (for 8 months) it's gonna be tough to get to work --- and i'm imaging the blasting, boring and heavy equipment already -- so I'm thinking I've earned a summer of 1/2 days (at least being here physically) -- i'm going to chat with Hickorytech on rolling my phones over to my cell phone --- it's just going to be an ugly, ugly summer in St. Peter!!!! per the public info meeting -- construction will be 7 days a week and sometimes 24 hours a day....... ugh.

haven't chatted with Pam, but I'm guessing the Farmers Market will get relocated also --- kinda dumb to have it next to the construction zone --- customers can't get to us and i think that parking lot will be tore up too.....nothing is sacred this summer ---

dr lee should have me up and running at full speed by 3:00 pm today --- keep your fingers, toes and anything else crossed -- need all the luck on the planet!!!!

Thursday, March 5, 2009

well, the help is fading fast..... katie, anna kate and brandon down with both versions of the flu -- molly off to other gig for the weekend -- emmy on spring break (but she'll be working here!!) --

spring is in the air

after seeing susan's flowers -- i splurged on my trek for drugs and bought flowers too.... always help brighten up the day.....

happy thursday

Over the hump Day.....

So, it's Wednesday -- I think things are kinda under control. Not quite sure yet.

The good news -- my car started (battery issues from the lack of driving -- it's sitting out in front of the office garage and running). It's going to warm up and melt. I read the morning paper and had breakfast today. Gotta love McD's and the 24hour driveup!

My toilet is back to flushing itself (it's not the self flushing variety) so a call was made to the plumber (they thought i was nuts until it did it in front of them) -- the problem is something to do with the City and water pressure -- beyond this country girl. I just make sure I turn off the shutoff valve before I leave at night (and turn it back on in the mornings).

Think Spring

The Beginnings of another long week

So, I managed to have a nice supper last night, got in the nursing home visit and managed to stay awake thru the entire Tom Selleck movie.....not bad for a tired ol' woman!

Today's challenge -- our well is acting up and the well boys will be digging something up ---- water is spewing out of the ground next to it ---- kinda like the "oil" the Clampett's of the Beverly Hill Billy's --- only ours is water......so all the laundry is done up and the human's done up so if no water for a day -
