Happy Easter !!!

Nothing beats a hug from the Easter Bunny!

(pix from this mornings Free Press) ...

So I made up the mental list of projects for today and I'm going to get all of them finished.

1.  Owatonna PR
2.  SPIG
3.  BFarms
4.  JBLaw
5.  SDay of StP
6.  MRW & Mrs MRW

It'll be a stretch but I can DO IT.  I DID IT !!!! TOOK ALL FLIPPING DAY BUT I DID IT !!!

I was supposed to meet family at 6:00am church.  Instead I came to the office.  I was the only vehicle on US Hwy 169 this morning.  That is rare.

Donna K.  it was good to chat with you last night !!  We need a coffee, tea, knitting night!  (as in you need to teach me to knit).

Easter Blessings to all.

M

ps. 15 days 14 nights and 2 weekends remaining.

or

finally friday

Today is the 15th anniversary of the big wind that changed our lives -- as I look back I've come to the realization that it was just a tornado.   I will always be grateful for the assistance and support from family, friends and strangers.  Blessings abounded.  Many thanks to the landlord that did everything possible to get us back into the building and operational.  I was lucky -- I had an undamaged home -- so many others lost so much more.  A simple thank-you will never be enough.

I look back and see the friends and family who helped us get thru those tough days -- who are no longer with us.  Remembering their love and support is so much more important than a flipping tornado.

can you find me -- I was 229 West Broadway

On a lighter note -- I ordered my seed Wednesday night -- a lot of waffling about garden ... no garden occurred up that point.  Ordered and arriving shortly.  A little fresh air and dirt will be good.

easter bunny

okay so my mornings are busy ... but I generally get around to reading the morning paper ... article in yesterday's business section from Harvey MacKay kind of made my day.  Read the entire ARTICLE here.  In summary ....

"We can learn a lot about life from the Easter Bunny"

1.  Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
2.  Everyone needs a friend who is all ears.
3.  There is no such thing as too much candy.
4.  All work and no play can make you a basket case.
5   The grass is always greener in someone else's basket.
6.  To show your true colors, you have to come out of your shell.
7.  Variety is the spice of life.
8.  Do the bunny hop.
9   You don't have to be big and scary to be effective.
10. The best things in life are still sweet and gooey.

and Mr. MacKay's moral of the story.  "Let positive thoughts multiply like rabbits."

walk on (by)

Ms. Cindy and I realized at 3:30 yesterday (a) that it was 3:30 on Sunday and (b) a lot got accompished over the weekend.  So, she went on to her next job and I, well I, farted off the rest of the day.

Everything I touched was missing something. So I went home and did laundry ... walked passed the sewing machine and creative corner at least 10 times.  Updated the iPad, downloaded some books, read a fast book.

Priced out / planned out seed for the patch.  But didn't order any.  Waffling big time on the gardening side of life.

Went to bed.  Early.  Nothing on TV -- well, couldn't seem to focus on anything on TV.

So the day went.

the melting needs to begin

excitement on 3rd street

  well, the short version.

        Rich fell
        Lots of blood
        911 call
        Ambulance ride
        Emergency Room
        Lots of stitches

thankfully, a split lip and cracked tooth seem to be the worst of it -- oh so scary ... Kevin was fabulous in the crisis ... calm, cool, collected ... caring.

way to much excitement for 3rd street.

8'

yep, 8' this morning.  yuck.  yesterday too, the first day of spring and we have windchill warnings.  wth.  i was cold all day yesterday, just couldn't seem to warm up -- better today, must be the long underwear.  yep, long underwear in Spring.

 lots done, lots to do.

just a little chocolate to get us thru the day.

desert from Tuesday night ... it's become tradition at this event to have this chocolate mocha tort.  damn tasty.  raspberries were good too!

need the receipe -- email me.  Mrs. Davis (because I can't remember how to spell Deniece) was kind enough to share the receipe.  It's full of goodness.

aaah Monday

I lept up out of bed  ---  with the intent to enjoy all that Monday mornings have to offer.  Then:  a) I realized it was indeed Monday and b) it was snowing heavily and c) we're in a blizzard warning.

What the hell -- it is March and it should be melting, the grass should be popping up and the birds chirping.  Not so this morning.

The St. Paddy's Day parade was nice.  Always a good time by all.  Pictures downloaded at home ...

I also downloaded the pictures off the "deer camera" that elder #1 has set up in the "cat" house to see who is eating all the kitty food.  A large raccoon magically appeared at 3:15 am and proceeded to eat all the food.  100 pictures total --- 75 of the kittens eating, fighting, drinking and 25 of the 'coon having it's snack.  Technology at its best.

Happy Blizzard.

pretty dang quiet around here without him

would've, could've, should've

went to the pool last night.  would've done me good, could've made the time and should've went.  just leave.

  but I finished multiple projects.

left for the office Thursday morning at 5:13, yep, 5:13 -- when I noticed my always efficient and helpful Kevin, changed the clock on my truck on Tuesday, gotta love that kid.

this morning was 5:20 .. 'tis good to be me.

miss that dang cat in the mornings.  pretty darn quiet around here with no one to talk too (as in "get off of my desk Nick!) .. but I really don't miss that litter box.  new chair came yesterday ... no cat hair on it ...

humm, life is good, if not entertaining.

  peeps are weird, really weird.

spring

  where are you ......

frack it's cold out there.  yesterday it was blowing snow and slippery on the trek to Gaylord.  it was good to be the passenger.  i'm good at hitching a ride from someone ...

snow is forecasted for the next week.  double frack.

the piles are growing, by now i had hoped for less piles.

and my chair lost a set of wheels -- 15 hour days with out my favorite chair sucks.

Diva

yep this is making the internet rounds....kinda how i look headed to market!
haven't ordered any seed yet ... undecided on the gardening gig.

daylight savings time

the idiot who dreamed up daylight savings time ought to be shot.  dang tough to roll out of bed this morning.  even when I "practiced" it for the last 2 weeks.   ugh.

I know enough with the cat -- I was going thru pictures last night and uploading to a storage site ... 6,000 pictures stored on the home computer might not be a good thing.....

so quiet

pretty darn quiet around here without Nick.
no hairy cat tripping me in the dark or leaping on my desk with a grunt.
or falling asleep a top the tv and falling off.
or taking a poo and smelling up the building.

we've (i've) been trying to focus on the upside of no Nick.
no litter box duty ( a re-occurring statement)
          i really hate litter boxes.
the toilet lid can be down
plants can return (do digging in them and flipping dirt out)
the plastic window kits won't be shredded
no scratching of the chairs  leather chairs can return.
no drinking out of my coffee cup.

giving ana kate the eye -- i'm sure it was the cookie not the cute little girl.
ana kate now (well, a year ago!)

katie, ana kata and greta brought me a treat and a card yesterday ... and i burst into tears ... scared the little ones -- but we laughed and giggled later

i sent home my "charlie brown christmas tree" with ana kate ... she needs here very own tree ... especially one that plays music.

greta likes my phone(s) and all the buttons to push

the smiles continue.

Life is hard

so today was tough, Nick got sick and well, at 12, I had to make the tough choice.  I guess 12 good cat years is 12 good years.  10 years here on 3rd street and 2 years at KRBI.

Many thanks to Kevin, Robyn, Meredith and Jean -- the last couple of hours have been nasty and they've propped me up, handed me tissue and Jean took us on the final drive.  It's going to be really quiet around here -- and well, a whole lot less hair and no more of that damn litter box.

peace.

Winter Storm ????

my lovely neighbors -- HomeTown Bank ... yep, they're great neighbors, wouldn't be here without them.

Yarn bowl from Roxy -- Roxy, the potter, isn't it cool.  I brought in a ball from home ... need to spend a couple of minutes everyday on the projects .. keeps me calm (calmer)

the other neighbor, State Farm and my old office .... now the food shelf.  sad to say, but I really don't miss the blue building.

Monday, March 4, 2013

hours ....

355.5 in January
373.5 in February
100.5 for last week

no wonder I'm so flipping grumpy!!!!!!!

enjoying the "winter storm warning" so far.   kevin shoveled, dad plowed the lot and eddie plowed the sidewalk.  no complaints from me.

it's going to melt eventually.

copy cat

Nick seems to think the copier is his roost.  Must be the height I don't think it is very warm on the document feeder.

No wonder the repairman is not happy.  Two visits last week ... but it needed "internal fans" ... damn thing better last at least 'til next Christmas.

my box of goodness arrived from Kohls via the USPO on Saturday morning.

Unfortunately, most of it was smashed.  My fiesta coffee mugs.  I ordered 4 more -- 2 were smashed.  Now begins the process of "give me a refund"  -- they aren't listed on Kohls website any longer, but my friends at Amazon had them and had them in even more colors.

My t-shirt is a pretty wild color ... should be able to see me from a distance... a bit colorful ... but it was $6 on sale.

Happy Sunday ....

weell, .....

i can't spell well, but I got here this morning without backing into anything.  'tis good to be me.

forgot a couple of other helpers on the now famous list!

Mitzi & Lori ... kept (keep) us clean and tidy
Michelle ... the vegetarian who wouldn't eat the pepperoni on the pizza
(and help to get us thru the cancer event)
    Tessa !!!

  I'm blessed peeps, truly blessed.

there are some cool pictures on the iPad, but I was so busy downloading books last night ( need something to do in 44 days) that I forgot to upload them .... books and internet bingo.

Toodles
M

ah, red/white and me at the market .... 2008 or 2009 ... yep, same tables, same tubs, same rugs, same crates ... miss this truck, bald tires, lots of rust, no brakes and didn't go into reverse without a bit of luck.  key bent in the ignition, door locks would lock by themselves, no radio, nice bed liner ... it was a classic ....

so, you're tired when

you back out of your garage at home and hit the side of the door opening.   the mirror is still intact.  sort of.  and then arrive at the office and back into the garage and hit the trash cans.

  must be tired.

M

so my disease is awesomely tired.
