God only gives each of us a certain amount of time to be on this earth and every day when we wake up, we get to decide how we are going to spend those precious minutes and hours.  There are no do-overs, no second-chances, no next-time-around’s to get it right.
Joey knew this and she has made each and every day count. One of the last things Joey said before she drifted into the deep sleep she’s been in for a few days now is, “I have no regrets… I can honestly say, that I have done everything I wanted to do and lived the life I always wanted to live.

Wise words peeps -- really wise words.

So I've been following Rory Feek's blog THIS LIFE I LIVE since it first hit my facebook feed several months ago.

It was kind of a bad day on 3rd street today -- it was supposed to be a work day and it was more of an uncontrolled chaos day -- we've had a few of them (chaos days) strung together lately and I was a bit out of sorts when I finally got back to the office and realized I hadn't done a damn thing all day -- or a productive thing all damn day.

I came home and started cruising my favorite blogs and well -- This Life I Live ... had a new post ... just a small (LARGE) kick in the tush to remind me to well, be me.

Tomorrow will be better.
It has to be.
It will be.

No regrets peeps -- no regrets!

wowzer

the month of highs and lows is quickly coming to a close.

  sewer issues.
  internet issues.
a couple of weather issues (nothing serious).
  beautiful weather issues (really beautiful).

the "don't worry be happy" plan I have attempted to live might just be working.  after all -- sweating the small stuff in life just slows down the progress.

  managed a haircut yesterday --
  the piles are somewhat manageable.
the seed for the patch has mostly arrived ..
the birthday party date has been set.
  fabric has arrived (insert grin)
the mud seems to be drying up.

bring on March!

M

ps.  Birthday Party ... Dad's 80th!  May 22nd.  Details to follow.

hmmm

wastebook (facebook) sometimes has some jewels.
yes, I reside at the apex of flat/corn/absolutely nothing

and yesterday I learned the river has moved.  no shit.  55 years of  living near it --- I could have told a few in the room that fact.  well, it's moved enough that my property line may/may not extend into Hazard County (Le Sueur) ..wtf.  Fortunately (unfortunately) -- there is a US Hwy between I, and said meandering river and the property line.

Fascinating stuff about the original land surveys/cornerstones/plotting -- in 1854.  Mind you -- there was no GPS or GIS mapping available.

Happy Hump Day.

odor investigation

after an awful odor came wafting up from the office basement ---- late Thursday night --- an investigation ensued.  yes, the money pit was again in need of professionals.   -- plugged sewer line ... from the house to the street.  it is damn good to be me.

so a lot of fretting, pacing and aroma's were the norm on Friday.  the doors and windows were open for a spell .. and today -- nary a wiff.  PTL.  dang, it was nasty.

so, packed up and came home to work from home this evening.  so far 23 done, 6 with questions and I think 4 to go -- will finish in the am.

love, love, love the VPN ... worth every penny.
just saying.

must be tired -- I'm babbling (well, I always babble).

hello crazy

the crazy one would be I -- yes, I.

trying not to focus on what to do or what is not done
rather I'm attempting to focus on the accomplishments of the day.

so far the only accomplishment this week is "pissing off everyone"
.. seems to be the theme of the week.
.. shucks

so to combat said craziness -- see you in March, maybe April, 77 days of hell remain.

and 4 days later

a lot of white stuff fell from the sky ... I don't think it was necessary for the whole 11 inches to land.
nasty day ... since every other business in town opted to close early ... Meagan and I also left the office --- I was home by 2:00ish .. took 1/2 hour to make the 5 minute commute.  Once me and my box of work arrived it was a productive afternoon and evening.  I brought home a full box of work and all of it got done.  Our current version of internet is expensive but reliable!  The cost of internet is almost as much as the payment on the first (well, second) vehicle I bought.  Gad -- I'm getting old.

elder #1 felt the need to get out the "big equipment" ... after the small snowblower, the pickup truck and shovel -- he felt the need to get out his tractor.  He and it arrived at the office this noon -- it was a welcome sight.

and 5:00 ish I heard a buzz and saw this one ... down the street and stopped next door ... proceeded to cross the street and use the ATM ... what the hell.   note:  the stop sign got wiped out by a car and is being held upright by sand bags ....  goofy, day peeps, really goofy day.
