#3 .. a fat quarter bundle of something I've had a long time ... 6 x 6 blocks .. next step thin brown border and wider border w/coordinating fabric I purchased with the bundle

I took the "mystery scrap box" I bought in March and just started cutting and sewing based on similar colors ... more to come from the box of treasures

 

 

and the super scrappers (sewer) .. the youth group at St Peters Catholic Church sponsored the day as a fundraiser .. there were only 10 of us (total) for the two days but we had some productive hours ...

 

We were posing with our "completed" projects ... I was working on a crochet project at the time .... hence the hot scarf strangling me ....

 

Off to the Deep Valley Quilt Show today ....

it was a freeking awesome productive 15 hours at the sewing machine.  5 crib quilts started .. and ready for the next step.

and it's 8:00 Saturday night and I'm at the office!

  as in Bob H -- you only live once --

  so, I just got back from the Verizon store -- fast internet will be arriving on Daisy Ln next Wednesday -- it comes with data limits and $$$ but it will be nice to be better connected to the rest of the world (or to the office).

  I scored big at Kohls this morning -- 6 t shirts 3 pairs of shorts, sneakers and jammies for $135 ..... love my 30% off coupon.

  next on the agenda -- packing up the sewing stuff for a crafting gig Friday night and Saturday -- our friends at the Vatican are sponsoring some quality crafting time. 

  also on the agenda

1.  wash/vac Ruby --
2.  basement bathroom at the farm
3.  laundry
4.  finish the current book
5.  clean out closet ... it's a disaster.
6.  move bedroom furniture around and remove the dust bunnies.

plotting and planning ....

 

took a mid-afternoon walk over to Karen's -- yes, I'm still working on Sunday

These gizmo's caught my eye ...

might need to plant some ...

the lime-ness of the coleus was fantastic ... it was cloudy ..

 

and here is the patch -- plotted and planned via an excel spreadsheet

not sure how it'll translate to the actual space but need to start somewhere!

rhubarb -- hopefully the manure will spice it up

 

pussy willows have already "blown" out to leaves ...

 

getting a feel for the size of this years "patch" ... looks larger than I thought

she worked most of the day (and is still at the office at 8:05pm) ...

I had an early morning meeting in Gaylord ... nice drive in Ruby ... a trip down to the local Shopko for some binders and $100 later it was a couple of bags of stuff ... Mom and I went to Mankato for lunch and a spot of shopping ... 28 yards of fabric in 1/2 hour and $100 later (it was a good sale!) ... a haircut from family friend Keith at his new shop (it's a nice place!) ... and back to work.

tomorrow is another day.

the big day

it's kind of dull around here today.  we (I) like it that way -- clean up the messes, get the shit tossed that needs to be tossed, file things away and make plans for the rest of April.

tonight is a meeting in Mankato (I get to leave town) .. will pop back into the office to check the answering machine and the computer -- the efile acceptance confirmations have been slow to non-existent today (overload).

tomorrow is a ditch meeting in the metropolis known as Gaylord Minnesota (population 4 -- well almost 4) ... at 8:00am ... need to leave by 7:15 --- it's a pretty drive thru the countryside.

lunch with Mom.  maybe a haircut and a eye job.  and back to the office to work on the projects. 

I'll sleep in on Sunday.  More time then.

ps.  the garden got tilled today!  big plans for the patch this summer.  retirement was short lived (really short).

the end is near

it's been a 105 days of work.  lot's of work.  and there is much more to do.  but the end is close -- really close.

I couldn't do it without  Robyn, Meagan, Kevin, Jeremiah and Cindy ... they rock!  Other than a spot of drama on Thursday -- we've been a drama free work zone!

4 more days and I'll be sleeping in -- or rather sleeping in until 6:00 instead of 5:00 ....
