Tuesday's on 3rd
Tuesday follows Monday? ya, my days are kind of wacked. It was a great weekend of nada. Well nada of any importance.
I spent Saturday at the cabin -- after the gray soupy fog lifted it was a beautiful late afternoon and evening -- I would have stayed if I could have found some jammies ... I sewed potholders, table runners and mug rugs all day long -- there was a break for food and beverages ....
Sunday was planned to be more of the same -- but alas, it was boat moving day. The boys are taking the boat to Canada so ... Nick took Mom and I on a mini boat ride -- then it was fold up the canopy and the boat went home ... it probably won't come back -- or if it does ... it might be Dad's ... Dad's has it's own cover
Once I got home I attacked the sewing quarters -- what a dump. Good grief I accumulate was too much junk. I am a fabric horder. All of the surfaces are now cleaned off -- the completed maker fair projects are packed up ... the uncompleted projects (9 quilts to bind --- 5 more to quilt and bind) are organized --
Tonights project is to sort and re-fold the fabric on the shelf unit. and purge. PURGE. PURGE.
Time will tell.

what ails me
Unilateral Vestibular Deficit ...
big words .. for an issue with my left ear -- most likely from an inner ear infection -- that I may or may not have had any symptoms ... so, the day the spinning happened it might have been veritgo -- or it might not have been vertigo.
I have homework therapy which will most likely increase the symptoms as my brain "recalibrates" itself.
It was a really informative appointment at the Dizzy and Balance Center -- I had hearing tests up the wazoo -- lots of hearing tests -- like sitting in a spinning chair while following the red dot ... in goggles -- blowing cold and warm air into my ear to recreate a floating sensation -- weird peeps, really weird. Then after a lunch break -- the physical therapist took over -- she couldn't make me dizzy -- she tried -- I stood in a harness on a moving platform and the tube around me moved ... weird ... I did loose my balance while standing on one foot -- arms crossed and my eyes closed. I'm thinking before all of this -- I would fall over then too ...
I have a "tele-health" appointment with a physical therapist after labor day -- need to set up my iPad -- office computer so we can chat --
So -- to celebrate I took myself to the cabin and sewed, read, napped the day away -- so very quiet out there -- once the fog (real fog) lifted the boat traffic picked up -- and it was simply a gorgeous evening --

(( sigh ))
I had to purchase a watermelon yesterday ... so I've kind of missed the patch a lot lately ... since the dizzy's arrived and I've been home bound -- the reflective mood has it ... but then I look at my crazy calendar/schedule and the reality hits -- there is never enough time. I kept that red truck full of good eats -- (insert grin)
Mom and I went on the hunt for a herd of monarch butterflies last night. elder #1 stated they were swarming by the burial grounds ( I cannot spell cemetary) .. so we took a drive ... is 3 monarchs a swarm? not sure what he thinks is a swarm? 3, yup 3.
Made it back and proceeded to quilt -- 2 got long armed and the next one is loaded and ready for this evening -- I wasn't sure what I was going to stitch so ... ... anything and everything that is laying around pieced or sort of pieced is getting finished and quilted. I plan on a binding binge this weekend at the cabin. By Saturday, there should be 9 or 10 in that pile. I'm hoping Mom and Auntie Joanne will make the binding while I do the sewing -- always good to put the guests to work ...

Hump Day!
Happy Hump Day -- I don't have any camel pictures so a Minneopa Bison will substitute. Haven't trekked to the Bison Drive for a month -- need to do so soon.
I haven't had a dizzy spell (or prolonged spell) since Thursday -- or taken any of the meclazine since Thursday --- like 6 days in a row. Hurrah! I had a weed chopping binge on Monday and I thought for sure it would trigger something (bent over and head in weeds?) ...
I haven't taken a meclazine since I had the prescription refilled --- ha ... good thing it is a $5 refill ...
So to embrace hump day -- I got up and instead of my hour of reading --- I headed to the long arm and finished a project --- I attempted to quilt a crib quilt last night -- had issues (needle change) and finally this morning got it done -- lots of ripping involved .. and during said stitching -- a load of laundry ... because laundry never enddddssssssss

Saturday finishes!
my cabin piecing project (of the moment) .. is done -- I took a jelly roll -- pieced 30 strips (maybe 29) ... then took the remaining 12 strips and pieced them end to end and "raced" them together -- took the 12 strip "slab" and attached to the side -- it'll be a twin sized quilt ...
it appears the cabin is being overtaking by vines. it is. yesterday it was blissfully quiet -- until Mr. W fired up his lawnmower, his lawnmower needs a muffler -- then he proceeded to clean the pontoon boat -- with his shop vac -- I can't complain -- they are great neighbors --
and great neighbors are neighbors you never hear or see ...
but seriously -- they are really nice people ...

therapy ....
after the crazy busy, unsettled, dizzy week ... a little sewing therapy was fun. I finally got downstairs and at my project list ... this is project #2 of the evening ... #1 was circles and curlycues ... I thought I'd try squiggly lines on this one and I'm hooked ... although they take a long time and a lot of thread!
Once washed and dried the texture will be amazing ...
Happy Weekend...

unsettled Diva
It's Thursday and I'm so ready for this week to be over ... way to much happening and not enough progress on any of my piles of "stuff to finish" ... work piles and otherwise piles.
The on and off dizzyness is disruptive.
Not sleeping well either -- this morning I got up at 4:30 am ... flip flop flip flop all night long -- could not get comfy in the overpriced bed. So I got up and watched TV -- the Alaskan Bush People -- I mean seriously -- there was nothing else on .... wtf. I did finish my book and surf the internet -- and the iPad ran out of battery ... my iPad is fizzy lately too.
Back to the Government Center for Budget chats with department heads today (covering for traveling Jack)... they chat, I listen, back to office for a full day of client appointments -- oh joy! more IRS issues because someone was dumb (sometimes I was that someone) ... hopefully home to the sewing machine before darkness arrives.
Last night I squared up the pile of quilted goodness, and started pressing the pile of finished pillow cases ... and attempted to tidy up the sewing room ... a bag of trash was accumulated and additions to the overflowing scrap bin. Tonight is press some pieced tops and load the long arm, finish the pillowcases and select bindings for the newly trimmed up quilted projects.
and my chant of the day for myself is
"quit whining and get to it"
argh.

this is my life
I have a drop leaf table at the cabin and my side tables are chairs -- it works ... and I can still see the lake from the window -- I sewed quite a bit out there over the weekend ... will attempt to dash out during the week and finish up a project -- it's really cool.
this is getting old ...
OMG there is a new hatch!!!
getting away from the apple tree ..
after a lot of yelling and screaming
yep, this is my life --

so today
is the day for the MRI ... never had one before ....
should be entertaining ... and expensive
re-scheduled the appointment for the Dizzy/Balance Clinic -- yes it does exist ...
nice conversation with the receptionist -- answered more questions than anyone else thru this ordeal
some day soon --
M
mri is done and test results have already been emailed to me ... wth --- they almost beat me back to the office .....
the radiologist emailed mumble jumble to my primary and she added a not to me "Marie, your brain is normal" ...
wth is a normal brain ...
bizarre, just freaking bizzare
live peeps, live

a day (or two) away
morning at the cabin was quiet, peaceful, enough breeze to keep the bugs at bay ... and then the lawnmowers, weed whips and chain saws arrived...
these dudes felt the need to fish extremely close to our docks and really really close to the landlords expensive boat ... wth ... and really, fishing 6 feet from shore????
Just before leaving for the day I walked down to the lake -- haven't done that for 3 weeks -- since the dizzy's started -- lake is finally dropping
can see the rocks again ... there was lots of leaping toads ... too fast for me and my phone
phlox on the hill ... fragrant and pretty
Yesterday, we took a drive to Schueler's Shoes in Burnsville -- Mom and Jean have foot issues and require special, specific types of shoes .. both got a pair .. never inexpensive .. Mom likes hers -- she was getting them in Mankato -- but that store closed ...

well, the plot thickens
there is a monarch butterfly in there somewhere -- the goofy thing floated along with me for almost 3 blocks of my evening walk .. when I turned the corner to head into the shade (and into the yard) ... it went back into the bean field
shouldn't every eggplant pot be shared with salvia's and marigolds
at least the critters haven't ate this one, yet.
So, it's been a pretty good week -- I walked every night ... got projects finished up, both office, maker fair and home -- but today -- the mini dizzies returned. One particular nasty one while driving -- I know ... I took the drugs ... and ... after a couple of phone calls -- and after speaking to the triage nurse, "Danielle" and the scheduler woman -- I'm off for a MRI next week -- and the week after -- the "dizzy and balance clinic" ... oh, joy ... I can hardly wait -- still not spoke directly w/Dr. B. nor has she seen me since Monday ... not sure what to think about all of this...
I just want to feel better (and quit whining about it) ... I thought things were going better ...
what the hell.
