Break Time

 

So one of my favorite blogs to read is Amanda at Crazy Mom Quilts...a link to her blog is in the daily reading list....any how she took a break / sabbatical from blogging for a month and it got me thinking ....

 

a time to rest / reflect / contemplate / re-charge

and well, I'm damn busy with the real things in life.

 

so, I'm taking off the month of March from blogging -- I'll be saving up the good stuff for April.  I do believe I'm giving up Wastebook (Facebook) also.  although, in a town with no local radio Facebook is our news station.

 

I'm hoping when April arrives -- the limited snow will be gone and the temperatures will be above zero!  Still freeking cold here.

Tuesday Travels ....

my buddy Cameron finished his new puzzle in a flash ....

and my latest fabric acquisition -- Hawthorn Threads had "words" fabric and a lot of choices .... can't wait for this self imposed lent gig to be done -- I'm drooling over their selection.

 



procrastination

noun, verb or adjective

all 3 are perfect for Sunday's on 3rd street.


I procrastinated at home before I left for the office.  (7:00am).
I'm procrastinating on the nasties laying on my desk that need to be finished.

Procrastination = the art of gracefully accomplishing nothing.

so, back at it -- the projects await me.
(which includes a couple of cool pictures to download from my phone)

-11 with a -25 wind chill -- might have something to do with the procrastination issue.



 

a wee bit of snow and drama

Less drama has been my winter theme. 
So, last night -- made it home by 9:15 (which is late by my standards -- I started at 5:30) ... and promptly drove back to the office to shut off an appliance. 

So a wee bit of snow has fallen or is currently falling.   Seems to be a lot of heavy equipment rumbling thru the streets for a "wee" bit of snow.

I'm giving up fabric for lent. 

no, I'm not catholic -- it's not a Lutheran "thing" ....


I was surfing fabric on the internet while chowing down my lunch ... and I promptly closed the window  (quit laughing Mrs. H) ...

I did order some on Tuesday morning.

well,

what more can I say -- someday's are just butt ugly.  actually today wasn't too bad -- the normal whining. 

 

 

we had one client in shock today -- they owed $190 ... the next one owed $40,000 and politely thanked us.  what can I say --

 

sometimes life is good and sometimes it is not

 



Happy Valentine's Day

 

This popped up in my facebook feed yesterday -- dang I think I need one -- in watermelon colors.  It is adorable ...

 

I think I could live in one of those Tiny Houses that seem to be the rage on HGTV ... as long as I had a 3 stall garage for my sewing stuff and another 3 stall garage for my wheels.

  I'm just thinking ... Valentine's Day should be a two day gig.

  Two days of niceness in February ....

reality check

better known as "marie is an idiot" ...

I am attempting to lead the drama free life during this busy season at the office ... I even have a note posted on my wall for clients to read ...."it's a drama free zone" ... and today I came pretty close to falling into the abyss of overworked / overbooked / bad weather in February / tired / cranky syndrome that overwhelms.

An then I had a reality check when 

I read the obituaries ----

my drama is self created -- my issues are nothing, simply nothing. 


that being said -- one more hour of work and then home to bed.

hug your children, life is precious.

the last 10 days in pictures ...

 

yep, still coughing once in a while ...

 

big flakes fell and piled up on Tuesday -- it had to be Tuesday ... the trash was still at the curb ..

 

another version of the infamous "funeral hotdish" ... aka the "Vatican HotDish"

 

 

good grief .. the deer are bedding down a little close to the garage ...

 

 

and the beer truck/food truck/tour bus was parked in front of my office -- not the BAR to whom they were delivering ... argh.  This was Friday .. the Tuesday afternoon/evening snow had already melted significantly.  Thankfully. 

 

Yep, life is crazy ... 66 more days.

 

This brown winter is weird -- nice, but weird.  Ice this morning was entertaining.  Did okay on the inbound commute -- until I arrived at the grocery store parking lot -- that was a mess.

more fabric arrived on Thursday -- ya, I know -- a kit from craftsy.

broken resolutions

so the no fabric resolution lasted less than a month ... the fat quarter shop has a flash sale everyday at 10:00 am .... sometimes the deals are just too good to pass up ...

 

so I took the plunge on one of these -- I could have bought a layer cake, shopped it in half, had twice as many "bars" and spent about the same money ....

 

for some reason these caught my eye ..

 

 

and then I had to purchase some coordinates ... they are gray not sepia .... pictures at 6:00am in a dark home office with a cheep camera! 

 

laundry is humming --

clean clothes put away

bed is made --

ready for the shower --

and off to work for most of the day --

and then

home for some time at the Bernina (hopefully) ....

 

I told Mrs. H on Friday -- I want to sew during the busy season -- I'm going to whip out a bunch of friendship stars and mini log cabins from my scrap bin ... 15 minutes here and there over the course of a couple of months and voila --- a bunch of blocks!

 

I finished oodles of projects yesterday -- I love work days with no interruptions -- the copy pile kept growing all day long ... and the piles on my floor kept disappearing

 

I think it snowed -- I haven't looked outside (it is dark) ...
