this is life

Love the MnDOT Camera a bit north and east of us --

So this is life -- lots of water -- so much that the freaking $42M road project is flooded -- the $42M road project to keep the road from flooding -- actually one side is open and I think that was part of the grand plan .. haven't driven out there ... too much traffic for a busy and dizzy Diva

lots of other excitement -- law enforcement -- lots, ambulance -- doctor -- helicopter -- neighbor had an incident in a tree with a chainsaw . waiting to hear from family -- keeping him in our thoughts and prayers this evening.

all this drama smucked thru the mud to get up there -- the ambulance dude sent the chopper straight to the hospital -- to much mud, muck and trees to land ... argh.

the sands of time

tick tock the clock slowyl

the timekeeper gizmo at my desk at the Government Center -- it's moved from seat to seat with me since Commissioner Haack brought it back for me from the annual AMC conference (8 years ago?)

it serves its purpose well ---
brought it out Monday night to keep the Planning and Zoning troops in line and on time

I've been good during the season of Lent -- we Lutheran's need to practice some of the traditions of our Catholic families and friends -- my pledge for the 40 days is to toss stuff out -- one or two things a day -- working well -- but I could not bear to part with my favorite flannel pants -- they are in tough shape -- the nappyness of the flannel is long gone -- they've faded to lovely shades of denim blue .. I can't -- I just can't toss 'em.

And the other tradition of "meatless" Friday's -- well the fish lover in me is in fish heaven -- it is the best time of year for FISH!!!!

SELFIE

Robyn and I thought we were being clever?  Yes, I wear lepard print fleece, to the office, to a County Board Meeting -- on TV ...

The paint looks blue doesn't it -- it's really teal ..

yes, peeps there is a lot of freaking water on the move.  photo credit goes to a fbook post on the hometown page ..   i made this super sized and home it fits .. you might have to slide it to see it all - or it might just take over your screen ... I don't know... whatever

I believe this is a drone shot a bit west of the new high school looking north -- dead center should be the farm.

5 more Saturday's until freedom.

ah, this is life

yes, this is me

just plodding along -- attempting to stay sane/dry/hydrated/rested

so snow day #11 was Saturday -- I worked at home from noon forward -- rain, sleet and finally snow fell from above.  Mother Nature is truly testing me.  She's winning.

My prepping for the daylight savings shuffle appears to have worked -- I leaped out of bed at 5:15 this morning (seriously -- ) and am still functioning quite well !!!!

make that "morning"
by the time my internal clock adjusts
we'll all be crabby

Operation Silence

March is usually the month I don't post on this blog -- the business of life has kept me kind of wiped out lately and well, I haven't taken time for blogging.  It truly is my "online" journal -- I have a word doc journal also -- that too has been neglected -- everything is neglected.

There was a bit of twirling (ya) and happy dancing as the IRS email arrived regarding extended due dates for farmers, tree choppers and commercial fishermen -- 45 more days and "guidance" forthcoming.  buggers, changing the rules mid-filing.

388.5 hours in February -- and to date -- 10 snow days working at home -- I've been pretty diligent about working at home in the wee hours of the day -- up at 4:00 at computer until 5:30ish -- in town and at office by 6:00 ... it's ninety minutes of no background noise and well, I'm in my jammies :)

So, this years Operation Silence is going to be wastebook, no posting and only checking things on my phone or iPad - it's a good way to diet :)  small steps to conquer the addiction

Happy March Peeps
