Blizzard and Friday Night Sew In

    So it rained, snowed, and blew all night long.  Not exactly sure what's fallen (or not) but it's flippin ugly out there.  That being said -- my FNSI will be extended into Saturday!  In November I was a lucky FNSI winner (yahoo!!!) and my packet of goodies arrived this week so I thought I would be creative with the charm pack. ...

spring fever -- pretty colors !

i started chain piecing and rows appeared ... then the power flickered on and off so I took a break, I'm still not sure what's happening after i finish adding the rows  -- borders, no borders, table runner, baby/lap quilt ... wall hanging ?

okay call me cheep ... why do I do this ...

in the cleaning/planning process I took inventory of my pre-cuts... no more shopping on the daily deal... (i just deleted the link from my favorites -- i like them all and have no restraint when it comes to fabric deals)

So now that we are still in a BLIZZARD WARNING until tomorrow and the roads are nasty ... I'll have to sew (and cook and clean and laundry).

Favorite Things Friday

  It's FINALLY Friday (unfortunately, it really doesn't matter for me) ... but Mrs. P is hosting FTF again this week ....

  So, this week, "bessie" the red ATV is my favorite thing.  I use bessie in the garden, loads of produce are picked and hauled in the fall.  My hoe, bug dust, & weed killer are permanent fixtures pre-harvest.  It's a spot to sit in the shade while taking a rest break during hoeing.  In the winter she gets a 5' snow plow attached to the front and she assists in snow removal.  On Sunday afternoons she is our chariot for a ride around the farm and neighborhood.

and i plopped zinna's (what else) in the flag holder while picking a few pumpkins !  She's currently parked in the office garage -- if the weather turns I just might need her to get home tonight!

Unfortunately, it's going to snow again.  We just can't seem to catch a break -- 10 -12 inches are in our forecast.  UGH!!!!

Good Morning, Tuesday!

Monday ...

It must be time for another installment (week, maybe the rest of December) of  "3 Little Words" .... yep, I watched the weekend morning news and TLW is a regular segment.  It was a productive weekend.  I worked and napped on Saturday -- both were necessary.  I shopped (what else!) yesterday. 

Actually, I returned more than I purchased ... is that shopping?  It was good.  CJBanks had 50% off storewide -- so I spent my return $$$ wisely.  Michaels Crafts had some deals -- I'm turning into a scrapbooker == kinda scary. 

Chinese for lunch at HyVee was darn good.  Can't believe I find the deli at a grocery store good eating but it was very tasty.     

So I'm thinking today's TLW's are either:

Damn, it's Monday   or 
Damn, it's Cold!!!

well some snow plowing has happened... 4 lanes wide here ... don't ask about the side streets

today we had our first annual Fish/Ice House Parade ... my camera was in the car -- the spectators were funny -- they sat on the snow mountain between me and the bar ... they were dressed for it .. and 20 fish house went rolling past -- all sizes, shapes and colors.

mr personality -- bandit -- he comes in for treats and then heads to the neighbors (a mile away) and gets more treats and gets to sleep indoors on a cushy bed....
