ice free sidewalk

  I'm serious.  the ice finally melted from one of the office sidewalks.  the nasty walk from the parking lot along the north side of the building to the front door.  finally. melted.
 
  There is still a couple of ice bergs along the fence and in the yard.  mainly shaded by the building.  if it rains over the weekend they'll  be gone too.

   I did spy some tulip shoots peeking up on the south side -- the "micro" climate between us and the bar warms up a bit faster.

  oh what a difference a day can make.  not to mention it's a bit warmer.  food helps too.

monday afternoon

  rule #1 .... never call your accountant on Monday morning.  especially a Monday after a holiday.  because:

a)  she's grumpy
b)  you should not have waited this long to do your return
c)  it's Monday
d)  she's really really grumpy

and I kid you not, at least 5 people have asked about the cat.  need to print up a big picture of him and drape in black ribbons.  ugh.

and it's fricking cold.  like 21' this morning.  what the hell.

I was supposed to meet family at 6:00am church.  Instead I came to the office.  I was the only vehicle on US Hwy 169 this morning.  That is rare. 

Donna K.  it was good to chat with you last night !!  We need a coffee, tea, knitting night!  (as in you need to teach me to knit).

Today is the 15th anniversary of the big wind that changed our lives -- as I look back I've come to the realization that it was just a tornado.   I will always be grateful for the assistance and support from family, friends and strangers.  Blessings abounded.  Many thanks to the landlord that did everything possible to get us back into the building and operational.  I was lucky -- I had an undamaged home -- so many others lost so much more.  A simple thank-you will never be enough.

I look back and see the friends and family who helped us get thru those tough days -- who are no longer with us.  Remembering their love and support is so much more important than a flipping tornado.

On a lighter note -- I ordered my seed Wednesday night -- a lot of waffling about garden ... no garden occurred up that point.  Ordered and arriving shortly.  A little fresh air and dirt will be good.
