adventures for monday

ah Monday .... already, it came way to fast.

it was a working weekend so, Monday really shouldn't be a very big deal.  but the phone is ringing ... 'tis good to be me.

today's project list is short:
    mow the lawn
    kill some weeds
    trim out some junk

read the books that came with the MACHINE.   I keep drooling while looking at it.

ps.  I walked the patch yesterday ... oh so sad.  the squash and pumpkins are coming up okay ... the watermelons are really really slow ... the lack of heat ... time will tell.  I have a bit of seed left -- might try and dual plant tonight.

 so, I daily peek in on  Craigs List ... at least the local listings and look what I found .... made contact with the seller took a drive to Garden City and voila ....

I now own a Handiquilter!

 

 Jean went with me and we set it up in the front room of the office (temporarily) because it was the largest free space I could think of at the time.

 

So, I really need to work at the office today ... but will make some time to play too!  We didn't have enough room to set it up to it's king size ... but will keep playing.

random friday shots

 

 Mom's bike -- in the tear down of Fred's house -- a few treasures are appearing.  No wonder she needed a ride home from the DQ 45 years ago when we rode down for a treat.

 

 

only in downtown St. Peter on a Friday afternoon.  Note -- it was parked at the liquor store -- not sure if it was intentionally parked there or needed more Schells.

 

 

the current equipment line up ... skid loader -- "M" tractor -- Fergie (soon to leave) and lastly the lawn vac/chipper gizmo and a whole lotta junk.

 

 

oops camera went off on the ATV ... these are the "blue paisley" flannel pants.  frankly, I think they are pretty darn attractive.

 

I went up and toured the patch on foot last night.  Ground is hard as a rock -- a gentle rain might soften things up.  Germination is sporadic ... really sporadic, heat is needed and soon.   Finished planting the previously omitted butternut squash and a few hills of zucchini ... time will tell.  It is up to Mother Nature and out of my control.

   and yes, I mowed the lawn in the rain yesterday afternoon.   in my navy paisley flannel pants and a lavender tee shirt.  the office lawn, in downtown St. Peter at 3:00 ... it was a sight. 

 thank you for honking ...

1/2 got done before the lawn mower started to plug  up ... didn't like the wet grass.

  more time sitting today.  i'm less stressed.  it'll get done.  one way or another.  toured the melon patch on the way home last night (8:00pm) ... I could see seedlings ... it was "drive by" tour ... as in drive by and look out the open window.  yes.

 today .... a couple of projects and then my tush will be planted in the chair in front of the sewing machine.   it.will.happen.

 amoeba -- chop me up, split me apart and sent me twelve directions at once.  I'd love to say I excelled at every direction, but alas, I'm sliding downhill fast.

.... Landscapers have arrived and well, treasures have been found
.... I think it's going to rain, yet again.
