hmmm -- working will be less work

Finally, a day at the lake.  7" of rain fell there on Saturday, needless to say the lake is up.  Jake likes the lake.

We (Mom and I) left the cabin before supper -- home in time to pick for Market tomorrow --- yes, a truck load, then dashed back to town to mow the grass.

When I arrive a the pearly gates, God is going to comment on my ability to pick a truck load of watermelons in 45 minutes and then have enough stupidity to mow most of the office lawn in 30 minutes while raining --- and then hit up the drive thru at McDonald's for ice cream.

a work free weekend recap:

it rained everyday and I worked somewhere/somehow every day.

off to bed, it is early, I'm tired and cranky.

well, didn't happen

I came to work this afternoon ... it's raining again.

work seemed to be a productive plan of action -- it was work or nap ... napping will be tomorrow.

life at the Market

I sat there for an hour reading my book --- it was not raining at home when I left ... but 1 1/2 miles down the road this was it .... the thunder and lightening were ugly too

and we had a 20 minuted lull ... got set up, grabbed a food co-op breakfast sandwich and the rains returned ... really returned ...

Mom came to the rescue with dry shorts, shoes and a towel ...
By the time I left at 12:30 ... it was windy, 90' and freeking humid.

So we roll.

post picking

one should not pick watermelons in 96' weather with a heat index of 101'
nuts, just plain nuts.

job is done
truck is loaded

the new ride

cup holders -- every ride needs cup holders
and bug packets (skeeters are nasty)
and a paring knife

it even looks hot

first load ... 2 followed
it's a full truck for morning
where the forecast is nasty hot

fleet changes

no pictures but there is a change to my fleet of wheels ...
it's not red .... well, it's rather unusual for me ...

(found this pix on the internet)

the deer shouldn't be able to see me sneaking up on them
the power steering is a blessing.

keeping the fingers crossed -- the deer seem to have located a better dining site ... lots of tracks not a lot of noshing.

picking to begin later this afternoon -- I'm sure I'll sweat thru several changes of clothes

Happy Friday ....

ps.  I actually sewed last night ... the Bernina barely recognized me ... it went so well -- I sewed for 15 minutes this morning ... should start every morning at the machine!
