t t t t t t tick t t t t t tock

  the weeds are dying.
the office projects are done (mostly)!
the other chores have been divided up!

  the countdown is on.

because I'm headed out!  thought it appropriate for a JD version!  Although Peter, Paul & Mary's version is pretty good too!

the suitcase is packed (and the carry-on) I thought I could travel light.  wrong again.  weather.com changed my packing habits.

tick tock tick tock

the weeds be dying.  I've spent oodles of hours hand weeding (bend over, lean on hoe, pull out the weed) in the patch.  In between the wind gusts and rain showers over the weekend -- the magic fluid appeared.  Need to control 'em now ... before they get out of hand.  Too many vines to till any more.

the stuff I planted on the 4th of July is up.  2 1/2" more rain on Friday/Saturday (oh joy!).  office lawn got mowed --

the project list is dwindling ....

the clock is ticking ... 50 hours 'til the departure.

the view to the south ... the squash and pumpkins.  looks can be deceiving there are weeds in there.

I was plugging away hand weeding in the watermelon last night (the few that there are) and got stung on the lip by a mosquito ... the lip swelled quickly -- so home I went, drugs and ice.  Nothing like a double shot of Benadryl to put me to sleep.  Needless to say, I'll be up there all weekend long.  Hoping for stillness in the weekend mornings to spray my magic fluid - RoundUp.  Squash are coming along nicely.

The RELAXING issue is challenging.  The upside of this -- when I get home from the adventure I won't have much to do!

I see much quilting, painting, weeding and projects for a couple of weeks.

Happy Weekend!

self created

   STRESS.

Good grief getting ready for vacation is setting me over the nasty edge.  I just had conversation with myself.  I'm missing THREE, yes 3 flipping days of work.

   RELAX.

Although during the stressful moments yesterday I had loaded this quilt on the long arm ...

sorry it is sideways, I don't know how to rotate it or frankly in my stressed out (but soon to be relaxing ) frame of mind do not care to rotate it.

Anyhow -- I quilted it ... pretty darn spiffy .... until I changed thread colors and the tension went wacky.  For most of it; the thread color is a mossy brown .. blended well, I thought white for the white borders would be nice (insert grin -- it ain't happening).

Keep turning green with envy Cousin Mary -- I'm in love with Vicky!  Just have to get 'er moved home so I can get even more done!  I have two more tops in my stash to complete.

attempting to be

efficient !!

not sure if efficiency is actually occurring (time will tell - insert sarcasm).  so far my day has consisted of idiots on the phone  and a road trip to Gaylord Minnesota for a County Meeting.

Not much happening in Gaylord Minnesota.  50 miles for a 22 minute meeting.  My next meeting of the day is in Mankato, 5:00 Verizon Center, I will be rolling for home by 7:30.  My garden needs me.

6 days peeps.  The suitcase is out and the lists are getting tabulated.  The iPad is loaded with good books and I know there is a pool with a chair and a beverage somewhere.

too much time on my hands

playing with the camera this morning at the beginning of the monsoon -- it's still coming down hard and I'm guessing it'll be a while before it lets up ... the satellite TV is off and local radio just went off the air (or my favorite station lost power) ....

just in case the video didn't upload

next project for the long arm ... I've found letting it hang there a couple of days is another form of ironing (especially in our humid weather) ....

the big decision is thread color ... leaning toward a dark taupe ... if I were brave I'd leap outside the box and go red or orange ... time will tell.
