bam! Bam! BAM!

so I had two, just two things on my list of "just get it done" ...

1.  Wash the Truck --- yes, it is brown again.
2.   Purchase the ice melt and well, put it away...

        upstairs renter popped in with his rent check ... "do you need anything from Sam's Club?" ... yes, Doug, I do ... here's the $$$ can you pick up the ice melt.

I am blessed.



so, 3 loads of laundry before 7:30 am ... and then off to the office ... where .... I am down to one clients W2's and very very few 1099's ... just the problem children

I finished returns for the nightmare clients ... (yes, I have those) .. I did payroll .. I cleaned my desk off ...

  because I have absolutely nothing to do --- ( seriously dreaming) ... the great furniture swap happened today ... I moved the large base cabinet 40 ft -- thru the doors, down the hall and into it's new location -- all by myself ... I got hung up and texted upstairs for muscle -- then before he arrived ... used my brain and made it happen ...

  the vac has been out ... and getting a workout too.  the front room is looking better -- more open, the middle room needs work yet -- and the file room --- oh the file room is now holding a lot of stuff that it shouldn't ...

Weekend with the Scraping Divas

Every January the Scraping Divas get together for a long weekend of craftyness.  Sometimes we get a lot done -- sometimes not.  It's usually cold -- below zero cold -- sometimes we have lots of excitement -- and we always cook to much and eat to much.

This year we were productive ... I pieced blocks into throws and tableclothes.

what a January

dash camera -- always good to have a vehicle that talks

yep, I consumed more than one bottle

snow plow convention -- Dad at the office, someone at State Farm and the City truck getting ready to head north on 3rd street ... it was a lot of snow.

who knew we'd go from a low temperature of -23 ... no dash cam of that .. to 16 inches of snow (in one storm) in a 7 day spread.  Frankly, it warmed up so we'll have to take whatever Mother Nature gives us.

I thought yesterday was Friday ... it wasn't until mid-afternoon when the idiot light bulb went off and I was corrected -- bad, just bad.

On the sickness front -- I slept all night -- no middle of the night hacking fits -- or if there was one -- I slept thru it ...

So -- on to Friday ---


It is "Fire on the Pole" weekend -- the scrap shack will be humming with productivity.  I will be working during the day .... and sewing in the darkness.

everything is relative peeps ... I discovered an issue at the office yesterday and well I was a little irked (pissed off -- at self) ... why do we (I) always seem to direct ire at self -- well, I should, it was my haste that missed the blooper .... 

and then this morning I ran across this blurb  on wastebook (facebook -- the giant waste of time sucker) ...

so -- the blooper is getting repaired .. and I'm going to do it with a large grin on my chubby cheeks!

still cold

still cold (and currently snowing) here on Daisy Lane -- I just got home from 8 hours at the office -- my stint there yesterday was disrupted and abbreviated -- let's put it this way -- I'm not taking any more of that damn antibiotic -- the side effects are uglier than ugly -- tummy troubles are never pleasant -- it could have been worse.

Girls Weekend - aka Fire on the Pole Weekend is next weekend.  I'm planning my projects and will start to pack them (and my related "stuff") up this evening.  the Divas are promising less food (really) and more activity this year -- 

so far my project list includes:

1) ripping out the quilting and re-quilting a crib quilt (will use the Bernina) and binding it

2) binding on a quilted crib quilt 

3) finish piecing fall themed turning twenty throw

4) finish piecing Christmas throw 

5) toss together a jelly roll throw (or 2)

time will tell -- I need to work on Saturday (and depending upon the W2s/1099s) and maybe Sunday for a spell .. 

my saturday life ..

bam!

day 11 of the new year .... and I've already violated NYResolution #1 ... argh.  So I had a return at Kohls and they were gracious enough to send me refund of my "unused" Kohls cash and a 30% off coupon  (and the greedy/hungry fish that I am -- I took the bait and -- they reeled me in) .... so I ended up with a pair of sweatpants for free -- well --- I paid the shipping --- dang ... I caved for a flipping pair of sweatpants.

and day 8 of the crud might have been the turning point.  Only one slug of cough syrup all day .. 2 advil, the eye drops and the horse pills.  I toughed it out and worked until 8:15 pm.

instead of whining about the illness ... (which will get a paragraph) ... I'll whine about the weather ...
thats's a funny looking inch of snow ... I bet there is 3 inches out there and it's still happening -- coming down almost vertical with the 40 mph wind gusts -- oh joy.

It was just starting to snow on my inbound commute -- icy patches at our mailbox and on our township road ... but okay when I got off the gravel ... it was a miracle -- the office sidewalk had no ice ... thank you ...


so, the illness paragraph -- went home and had a 3 hour nap yesterday over lunch.  Mrs. H suggested it and I didn't hesitate -- felt pretty darn good -- I just don't have any pep with this crud.  Left the office at 5:30 last night -- laundry, tv and my book -- and coughing !

I'll find a new topic and will be happy tomorrow!

so it's a sinus infection .... take the prescription

yesterday I was concerned about the side effects (and still am) -- especially the eyes after my summer of ulcer on the cornea .... so

the yucky itchy red sore eyes are all part of the sinus issue ... so another prescription for drops --- for the eyes

went to urgent care yesterday -- left with a prescription for the sinus infection ...

woke up this morning with swollen cakey eyes -- yes both of them

not sure if it is a side effect of the prescription   or ... just more of the crud.


but I'm at work and the day promises to be warm -- I can see a peek of sunrise out the window ...
it will be a wonderful day!

the plague

has returned -- full force ....

advil seems to be the only thing working well.

I left the office early on Wednesday (it was still light out - early) .. slept in Thursday morning (it was light out on the inbound commute) ....

Lasted at the office until 6:30 pm ... and chiseled myself out of bed this morning at 6:00 ...


so I had some oatmeal and coffee ... and well, I really could go back to bed!

Hump Day

it's January 3rd and I've already lost control of life.
yep, already.

today, however I'm taking charge!

once my nose stops dripping and my headache disappears
drugs are my best friends.
