horder's

here's the scoop -- don't watch a marthon of horders while cleaning out the closet.  hummmm  the toss pile got a little larger than normal.  good or bad -- it's done.

I've warmed up from yesterday.  I even went to work and turned on the furnace, yes, Robyn it was 63' in your space when I left.  it was 50' when I arrived.  hummm

did the dash to Mankato -- returns, exchanges and expensive cat food.  His Royal Highness eats well.

stamping diva and I are coordinating our schedules for a weekend (this weekend) event.  I've got a bunch of squash and a few dozen pie pumpkins to get rid of ....

my grandfather is probably rolling his eyes from above -- we dug up and potted foxtail for yard decoration.  yep, weeds that make us sneeze -- humm  crazy

stay tuned more to come ... it's a busy week ... well sort of a busy week.

brrrrrrrrr

it was pretty damn cold at Market this morning.  sweatpants, turtleneck and winter coat, hat and work gloves ... 30' and a 20 mph wind did not make me a warm diva.  enough of the whining.... but man it was cold.  I made up an iced coffee before I left home at 6:30 ... and when I got home at 12:30 .. it still had ice in it.....no I didn't drink it all.....

took a ride to the patch ... sad, sad patch ... I tried to get the scare crows pulled up -- but they're stuck in there good .... will need more muscle or some rain to loosen them up.

nary a good pumpkin left ... the nasty ones are getting ate by deer .... they (the deer) are busy.

the last remaining watermelon -- note the melon fragments -- deer and hoof tracks...  and the lack of green vegetation ... even the weeds are dying from the lack of rain ....

back into the routine

of working everyday .. all day.  yep, working afternoons again and frankly, it kind of stinks.

After my seminar on Monday, drove home and come to work ... worked all day Tue, Wed & yesterday.  I did leave at 4:30 yesterday ... the local version of "girls gone wild" was happening and I left before chaos ensued.  It's a lotta women out and about looking for free stuff.

I'm here today and not liking it.  But ... I'll be here 'til 4:00ish -- then home to load the truck for morning market.  Doesn't take long -- 2 bushel of everything and a bunch of pumpkins.

It will be chilly at market -- I'll be the one in heavy sweatpants (with long underwear) -- and a wintercoat -- hat/gloves.  28' forecast for morning.  brrrrrrrrrrrr.  At least it didn't snow here.  (insert grin).

TGIF ....

Tuesday Nights Pix

church ...

Tuesday night the League of Women Voters and the Chamber sponsored a Candidate Forum.  I got there early to stake out the best seat!  While waiting I took these -- we were on the top floor of the Community Center -- and it was early evening.  I should have went back yesterday in full daylight -- I'm sure it would have been gorgeous.  The winds overnight are quickly depleting the supply of leaves.  Trees will be bare quickly.

I am in dire need of attitude adjustment.  I listened to debate last night -- I was a tad late on a questionaire sent out by the local paper and then they requested I write a 500 word column .... humm, yep.  So, tonight I think it's me and my sewing machine.  My new fabric awaits me -- as does the other piles.

At the forum on Tuesday night I was my usual candid colorful self.  I refered to the potential mandate of the Voter ID Amendment and the responsibility of Minnesota counties to pay for it as "it sucks."

God did not put me on earth to think and speak at the same time.

Marie

ps.  the renter just gave me notice she's leaving ... yep, the renter who's here less than 1 night a week ... so quaint, cute, old, character filled apartment is available.

more garden pix

fountain - reflecting pool in the lower perenial gardens next to the river ...

new perenial beds between the upper and lower ... love the maples in the neighbors yards ..

the rose gardens were all bordered in alysum -- i think they have been replaced at least once during the summer ... i can never seem to keep it going -- especially thru the heat/drought we're in

large container ...

another creative container

again -- container -- spruced up for fall with the flowering kale
and another container this one in the rose garden with miniature roses in it ... all of the containers were fabulous.

Garden Pix's

looking down towards the rose gardens from the upper formal garden .. the fountain grass around the fountain was a dark red -- very striking

the picture doesn't do this walkway justice -- the grass had pink/white/burgundy seed heads ... the middle layer was a dainty pink something? .. and pink, white and purple ageratum is the low growing annual.

pretty foliage ...

the fountain up closer .. this isn't the "big" fountain ... it's one of the smaller ones...all of them are gorgeous.

Home again ...

and I bet you didn't know I was gone eh!

One more tax conference -- this one in the metropolis of Saint Cloud Minnesota .. home to 3 of my favorite things.

1. Grubers Quilt Shop -- check it out its a pretty cool place.
2. Crafts Direct ... a great place to spend a few $$$.
3. Clemens/Munsinger Gardens .. a fabulous public gardens.

( I attempted to insert links -- hopefully it worked).

plus 8 more hours of continuing education -- a night in an okay hotel, good food and good company.

at Grubers I picked up a kit (ya, I know), a pattern and a jelly roll of batiks.  I picked up Kathy's package too.

at Crafts Direct -- Kona cottons (they have most of them), yarn and some scrap booking stuff (no paper).

at the gardens -- 54 pictures -- will be sharing once I get them downloaded.

It was a good 30 hours ...
